GREAT EASTERN RUN ANNOUNCES EXTENDED PARTNERSHIP WITH SMITHS MOTOR GROUP AS OFFICIAL LOGISTICS PARTNER
Smiths Motor Group, the automotive dealership network based in Bretton, Peterborough, has been announced as the Official Logistics Sponsor for the prestigious 2023 Great Eastern Run.
This will incorporate both the Great Eastern Run Half Marathon as well as the Anna’s Hope 5K Fun Run, which both take place on Sunday 15th October 2023.
The collaboration between Smiths Motor Group and Good Running Events, organisers of the Great Eastern Run, represents a shared commitment to excellence, innovation, and promoting healthy lifestyles within the local community.
The Great Eastern Run, recognized as one of the local areas most popular running events, attracts thousands of participants and spectators each year to Peterborough. The race celebrates the spirit of athleticism and community engagement, and Smiths Motor are thrilled to continue their support of this ever popular run.
As part of the continued sponsorship, Smiths Motor Group will provide resources, logistical assistance and a suite of vehicles for pre race promotion as well as race day, to support the smooth execution of the event.
To support the event delivery being as sustainable as possible, the lead car for the event will be the new Hybrid Hyundai Kona, which will be leading the runners around the 5K and 13.1 Mile routes around the closed roads of Peterborough City Centre in October.
Phil Lewin, General Manager at Smiths Hyundai, said: “Smiths Motor Group are delighted to once again be providing all of the vehicle logistical support for this year’s Great Eastern Run as we have now for over 10 years. A team of 15 volunteers in 10 vehicles will be delivering all of the water to the water stations along with providing on course vehicles at the front and the back of the race. The team love getting involved in such a great local event and it is no problem getting enough volunteers to help each year".
